sick of being sick

If anyone has made contact with me in the past week, you'll know this:
I'm SICK.

Under the weather.

Ill.

Sicker than a dog.

You get the point.  I've been sick for a little over a week now and to be quite frank, I am SICK of it.
I hate the chills, I despise the new voice I've been given due to sore throat and coughing, and most of all, I HATE not being able to work, hang out with friends, workout, etc.

So, here's to a better week...I'm on the mend!  (and I'm kinda missing my short hair...pfff)

inspiration from Elder Ballard

so I'm still really ill, but I had the chance to go to the CES FIRESIDE with Elder Ballard last night.

This talk was AMAZINGGGGG!

No matter what religion you are, I truly think you can find some inspiration to be a better person from Elder M. Russell Ballard

Happy Sunday my dear bloggers!

day 5 of 'thanks'

I am thankful for these 5 people:

Dad
Mom
Allen
Andrew
Allie

I am so blessed with a wonderful family.  My dad is my example.  My mom is my best friend.  Allen is my hero.  Andrew is my favorite bud.  Allie is the one I joke with.

I love my family and I am so THANKFUL that they are mine for this earthly life, but also for ETERNITY!

Love them so much.

{hello}

Lionel Richie - Hello (the ORIGINAL)

Glee Cast - Hello (remake)

Which one do you like?  I have a newfound obsession with the Glee Cast's covers of popular songs.

I know its a guilty pleasure, but I love the music!

stopping by woods on a snowy evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

exercise mania

I've deemed November as EXERCISE MANIA MONTH.
partially because I've been eating one too many sugar cookies...and not enough veggies.
So I decided that I am going to be better at exercising this month.

Who wants to join me?
Here's my progress thus far:
Novemeber 1st - 35 minutes on the elliptical.
November 2nd - sore throat, fever, chills...so I don't think I'll make it to the gym.

But you get the jist.

I thought putting my goals out for the world to see would be a great motivator!

So....here goes NOTHING!

This was 10 years ago?!  Wow!  Where does the time go?!  I remember loving this party!  It was such a blast!  A lot of friends from my ward came, and lots of new friends from jr. high
.
allie, kelsey, torrie, ashlee, christine, angie, brooke, heather, emily, jamie, megan, kallie, me

look how young we all were!  I love it!

My favorite part about this party were the awesome invitations my momma made:

thank you Martha Stewart's Halloween edition magazine.

I love halloween, don't you?!

1940's Fashion

ok, so I have a huge dilemma...

"The 1940s saw two distinctive styles in women's clothing. From the beginning of World War II in 1939 till the dawn of the New Look in 1947, women's dresses were knee-length and featured padded shoulders - one of the few adornments in clothing that was otherwise simple, thanks to wartime rationing. Sportswear became more common and women used a lot of ingenuity in mixing separates to make a wardrobe seem more diverse than it was. Homemade accessories and elaborate curls allowed women to show their flair without expense or waste. Hats, especially made from fabrics recycled from older pieces, went wild."

I have a murder mystery party to attend this week, and it's a 1940's theme.

What's a girl to wear?!

I thought of wearing something flirty like Marilyn Monroe's style...or even going for the classy look of Jackie O.

All I know is I've gotta get myself some cute little gloves to complete the outfit!  I hope that it will come together and be great!

Any suggestions for me??
