Quote of the week

"When obedience ceases to be an irritant and becomes our quest, in that moment God will endow us with power" -President Ezra Taft Benson

I know that God answers prayers and I know that we will be blessed when we obey what is asked of us. Even though it seems like a big pain, or it seems like we cannot achieve what is asked of us, we can do it. All we have to do is rely on our Savior for comfort and give our burdens and pains and sadness to him, and he makes up the rest. I know that I am a child of God and that he is very aware of me. I am so grateful for my Savior and Heavenly Father.
I am also very grateful for good friends, my wonderful parents, and others in my life who are examples to me. I don't think I would've made it through this weekend without two of my closest friends, Allie and Ashley, as well as my favorite brother and parents. I am so blessed to have such great people in my life, and I wanted to thank you for your love and support.

"When life becomes more than you can stand, kneel..." -Unknown

I am gonna make this upcoming week the BEST week ever!! :)

Quote of the Day (for the rest of your life...)

"God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. I would that every member of this Church would put those words where you might see them every morning as you begin your day. They will give you courage to speak up, they will give you the faith to try, they will strengthen your conviction of the Lord Jesus Christ." - President Ezra Taft Benson

Comedy Sportz....

On Friday night we went to Comedy sportZ! Lots of fun, right? We went to Pier 49 and got pizza, which was so yummy! And then we had about 1.5 hrs to burn before our show started, so we walked around center street in Provo. We had a lot of fun looking at costumes in the windows at Taylor Made, window shopping at The Hookah Collection (kinda SCARY!), and then just chillin in front of Comedy Sportz before our show started!

I think no Provo experience would be complete without a visit to Comedy Sportz. Its family-friendly comedy, and its HILARIOUS! :) I was laughing for most of the show! So, if you're lookin for a good night out, a good date, or just some laughs...try out CoMeDy SpORtZ for some wholesome, cleankicks and giggles!

Music is so powerful...

Today I was listening to my iPod and a song came on called, "Worthy to Stand". Its from an the EFY 2005 CD and I absolutely love the song. The words are so powerful, and they mean a lot to me. I just wanted to share the lyrics to this song and hope that it can give you some peace or hope for today. :)

WORTHY TO STAND
Music and lyrics by Tyler Castleton and Staci Peters

Battle rages on in the shadow of another day.
It’s harder to be strong when so many here have lost their way.
I will live and I’ll fight just hold on to one ray of light.
I will give all that I have and put my life in heaven’s hand.
Even when good men fall in every land,
I’ll be worthy to stand.

I will not despair.
I will listen for the Master’s call.
I will be prepared.
I’ll be ready to surrender all.
I will go. I will do,
Be the witness that I promised you.
I will give all that I have and put my heart in heaven’s hand.
I’ll defend the cause of truth in every land.
I’ll be worthy to stand.

When the war is done and the battles of this life are through,
When the Savior comes and the earth is full and new,
I will fall on my knees for the mercy He has shown to me.
I will give all that I have to touch His pierced and wounded hands.
When He gathers every soul from every land,
I'll be worthy to stand.

I'll be worthy to stand.

Provo River Marathon

September 6, 2008....
A day I have been excited, dreading, and having many many MANY emotions about...the day of the Provo Canyon marathon! We did a team relay - Russ (my dad) ran the first leg, Adri (from work) ran the second leg, I ran the third leg, and Kim (from work) finished the marathon strong for our team THE SURGE.

It was a blast and so much fun - I love to run, despite my knee injury, and this past weekend was no exception! The weather was gorgeous, great time of day, and I was just so pumped up to run! I finished my leg, 6.4 miles, in 55 minutes - which I must say I was really proud of!!

Anyone wanna train for a 1/2 marathon with me? :)
