CHA 2009

CHA 2009 was a huge success. Even though the attendees were fewer in numbers than in past years, Crate Paper (www.cratepaper.com) was booming and had lots of orders. I was shocked at how many people from outside the states came to the show.
I had converstations with people from Brazil, Norway, London, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Paris....the list goes on and on.

Speaking of Paris..."That's HOT". Paris Hilton came out with a paper line and was an exhibitor at the show - lucky for her she only had to "work" for about and hour. Isn't she just precious? hehe

Steve and I were so excited because we got to meet Jane Seymour. She is a lovely woman - very kind and sweet! And she was cool about us getting a photo with her - even though she was painting. I have my fingers crossed that I will age as gracefully as she has.

We also went to Disneyland while we were working - one night after the show we all piled into a taxi and made our way to the park. We had a blast! We ate pineapple whip, cookies, hot dogs, etc. (no wonder we were so sick?). We had so much fun riding Space Mountain, Finding Nemo Submarine tour, Buzz Lightyear alien zapper, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, and some others that I cannot think of right now...anyway, it was a BLAST!

Overall, the show was a ton of fun - and yes a LOT of work. But I enjoyed it. It was fun to get to spend time with my mom too!

Can You Keep a Secret?

This past week while I was in California I had the chance to meet hundreds and hundreds of people. Amongst all the people I met and talked with - one lady gave me the BEST piece of information I've ever recieved (well, best information about handbags and purses). She had the most adorable purse and I asked her where she bought it...lo and behold she buys her bags from BIG BUDDHA(www.ebigbuddha.com).

That's right - you don't just rub his belly for good luck anymore - you can purchase darling, fashionable - and afforadable handbags from the big guy.
So there ya go - I am sharing a secret with all ya'll fellow bloggers. Let me know if you end up purchasing one. I know I am going to!

1, 2, cha cha CHA...

Yes folks, its that time of the year again....you guessed it! It's time for the Winter CHA show in Anaheim, California! Woo hoo! CHA stands for CRAFT & HOBBY ASSOCIATION.
My aunt owns Crate Paper (www.cratepaper.com) scrapbook paper company and each January she invites me to go work for her in the trade show booth. It's a lot of work, but it is a lot of fun. Plus, who wouldn't love going to California during the middle of winter? In past years we've had a lot of fun going to Disneyland, shopping, eating at Mortons Steakhouse, and sleeping in the BEST hotel beds in the entire universe! This year, I am going to miss my dearest friend Allie - she came and worked with me last year...but I am still excited! My mom and I are flying down together and will get to spend some quality girl time together. We are so excited to go to Disneyland, relax (a little bit), and bask in some California rays...

California, here we come!!!!

Answers to Life's Questions...

Don't you just love when something good happens? Or when something you have been thinking about or praying about is answered?? I know I do!!
Yesterday I was listening to a speaker in my singles ward and he shared a scripture that really touched me! Just thought I would share it, because it's that good!

Doctrine and Covenants 6:34-36

"Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail.
Behold, I do not condemn you; go your ways and sin no more; perform with soberness the work which I have commanded you.
Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not."

Just a good reminder for all that God is aware of you, He loves you. Regardless of your circumstances in life remember that he wants to be a part of your life. Remember to commune with him daily - and always. You'll be blessed. Keep going and find joy in the journey!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!

Wow! It's been a long time since I've posted anything...(a few weeks...)
And I just thought I would write up a little something something.
A lot has gone on the past few weeks - lots of changes, but life is still going great and I am loving every minute of it. 2009 is going to be a great year!
I have gone back to school at Utah Valley University and am taking a full semester of classes. My teachers are all great and I am excited to learn from them. I am also working full time - so my life is pretty hectic and busy.
I am really excited about becoming a better person this year as well - and I have a few New Years resolutions that I am going to really kick into gear and implement them in my life.

GOALS for 2009
1 - Re-read the Book of Mormon cover to cover at least twice
2 - Run the Ogden half-marathon
3 - Do well in school this semester
4 - Become an EFY counselor this summer
5 - Become more learned in the gospel - perhaps serve an LDS mission
6 - Be a better friend, sister, daughter, person

I am really excited and pumped up for 2009. A new year is a chance to change old habits and become a better person - and that's exactly what I plan to do!

Here's to a good year! Cheers! and Happy New Year

ROCKBAND

Santa brought our family a WII for Christmas - and naturally, he HAD to bring ROCKBAND to go along with it... :)

My family has had so much fun playing the WII (for hours and hours) everyday and last night we finally 'unlocked' all of the music tracks on our Rockband game.

Our band's name is Stat!c Confession Band mates: Dad - Lead Singer, Ashley - guitarist extraordinaire, Allen - heaven sent drummer.

We have so much fun - so if anyone wants to come on over and rock out with us - call me!

お帰りなさい (Welcome Home)

One of my best friends, Ben Cook, gets home from serving his mission in just a few short days! I cannot believe how fast time has flown by (2 years...where did it go?!)
Anyway, I just wanted to share a little bit about this guy, he is the sweetest and kindest person you will ever meet! He has always been such a good example to me! We went to Jr. High and High School together and have been friends for many years!

Ben is very dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ and is one of the most caring people I know! For anyone who knows Ben, you can honestly say that he has made an impact upon your life. He is a great person! :)

I am so proud of him and am grateful to have him in my life! Ai Shiteiro Yo! WELCOME HOME BEN!!!! お帰りなさい!!

Temple Square at Christmas Time

Temple Square at Christmas time is absolutely GORGEOUS and it is a definite MUST to go and see. This year was a little bit different, instead of going up as a group of chicas, we decided to just invite whoever could make it!
Sam, Dave, Bryan, Ashley and myself all headed up on TRAX to go see the lights.

Riding Trax up was an adventure in and of itself...we met this guy who was totally incoherent (drunk and drugged...? I think...) ha anyway, the boys had fun talking to him - and the man kept telling us the funniest things, such as "Lay it down man", "capture the Canadians", "Can you give me the whole earth", "Far out man".
Needless to say, our trip was a blast! haha

We got up to temple square and enjoyed walking around for awhile, it was not crowded at all (thanks to the storm earlier in the day)! We took plenty-o-pictures and even ended the night with a midnight Denny's run! Woot! :) Gotta love late night adventures!

Waiting for Sage (Dave's mission comp) to get to the station...BRRRRR!!!

Dave and I have a very special place in our hearts for JAPAN!!

The girls on the infamous pedestal!

The whole crew at temple square - kinda blurry, but you get the idea! It was a gorgeous night!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

All of us gal pals decided to start a new tradition...Gingerbread Date Night!
It was such a fun night - everyone came over to my house! We had pizza/salad for dinner, and then we got to work! Each couple had a house to decorate - and it was quite the adventure. Some couples work really well together as a team, others like to do their own thing...it made an interesting night!! :) But everyone's houses turned out great!
After the gingerbread making was over with, everyone gathered round and watched The Holiday (not the best movie to watch with guys I decided...) and then everyone went on home. It was such a fun night, and is a tradition that I would like to keep going each December!
